API is the abbreviated English name for the American Petroleum Institute, commonly referred to as API standards.

 Established in 1919, API is a national commercial association in the United States and one of the earliest and most successful standard-setting chambers in the world.

 API enjoys a high reputation internationally, and the standards it sets are adopted by many countries. Many oil companies in the Middle East, South America, and Asia generally require products with the API mark to be eligible to bid when tendering for oil and gas equipment. Therefore, oil and gas equipment with the API mark is not only considered reliable in quality but also of advanced level.

Regarding the API mark mentioned earlier, the mark is registered in the United States and is not allowed to be used by anyone without permission. API certification is obtained through a process of application, inspection, and confirmation, where the inspection includes the quality management system. (ISO 9001) Only when conditions are met can a certificate be issued, allowing manufacturers to use the API certification
